Grace Decca

Grace Decca, born Ndom'a Deccah Grace on September 23, 1966, is a respected Cameroonian singer and producer hailing from the economic capital, Douala. Music is a strong family tradition for her, as she is the younger sister of the well-known Makossa star, Ben Decca, and part of a family that includes several famous artists. Grace was introduced to music in the early 1980s by her elder brother, Ben, performing chorus work for him, notably on his successful 1983 single "Na sengui bobe." She also contributed backing vocals to French singer Jean-Jacques Goldman's song "À nos actes manqués" in 1987. After performing alongside her brother for several years, she launched her solo career in 1989 with the album Besoin d'amour, which sold over 150,000 copies in Cameroon. Her second album, Doï La Mulema (1993), brought her even greater success and international acclaim, making her a celebrated diva in her home country. She continued to release successful Makossa albums like Appelle-moi Princesse (1998) and Donne-moi un peu d'amour (2001), earning numerous awards for her work. Following a long pause, she made a comeback to the Cameroonian music scene in 2014 with a gospel album titled Mouna. Grace Decca, who holds a DEA in Communication, has also established her own record label, GNS Productions, through which she has produced her own work and supported younger artists.
