Hailing from the Kigoma region, Bitchuka rose to prominence through his work with NUTA Jazz and later as a founding pillar of the DDC Mlimani Park Orchestra, where his high-pitched, melodic tenor became the definitive sound of the "Sikinde" style. Throughout a career spanning over four decades, he was most famous for his 30-year creative partnership with Muhidin Maalim Gurumo, the duo known as "Mapacha" (The Twins)and for his didactic, poetic songwriting in hits like "Clara" and "Talaka ya Hasira."
