Kenya Blue Stars was formed in 1976. It was originally started by Daniel Hamisi, Margaret Wamboi, Sheila Tett, and their producer, Betty Tett. They then started recruiting other members, starting with Charles Muthemba, followed by Gideon Maina (Ogish), Paul "Papa" Wachira, Joe Kimathi, and Cuthbert Bocha to form the famous group. Their first song, "Carolina," was their initial push, followed by their big hit "Sina Kisomo," composed by Cuthbert Bocha, along with many other songs. The lineup consisted of Margaret Wamboi on vocals, Charles Muthemba on bass guitar and vocals, Joseph Kimathi on rhythm guitar, Paul Waciira on keyboards, Sheila Tett on vocals, Daniel Hamisi as soloist and singer, Cuthbert Bocha as guitarist and singer, and Gideon Maina on drums.
