Vincent Visi is a musician from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who is a member of the electro-traditional band Konono Nº1, where he plays the snare drum. The band is celebrated for their unique DIY aesthetic, which involves combining amplified likembé (a traditional thumb piano) with vocals, dancers, and a percussion section utilizing makeshift instruments fashioned from salvaged materials like car parts and scrap metal . Visi has contributed to the band's internationally acclaimed albums, including Congotronics and Assume Crash Position, which helped popularize their distinctive, trance-inducing sound.
