Frank Lesokwane

Frank Lesokwane, widely known as Franco, is a celebrated Motswana musician and composer, born on May 5, 1971, in Gabane, Botswana. He is a prominent figure in the Kwasa Kwasa and Rumba genres and is the founder and leader of the popular Franco and Afro Musica band. Franco began his career after his time with the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) Band and rose to stardom with his debut hit album, Ke lela le lona in 2001, which helped establish him as one of the country's most successful artists. Known for addressing social issues in his music, he has consistently released numerous albums—approximately 18 in his career—and has been recognized with awards such as the "Best Kwassa Kwassa Artist of the Year." He is also known by other names such as Stango, Molamu, Lepako, and Chakala.
