Frank Lesokwane

Frank Lesokwane, popularly known as Franco, is one of Botswana's most celebrated musicians and composers. Born on May 5, 1971, in Gabane, he became a defining figure in the Kwasa Kwasa and Rumba music scenes across southern Africa. Before launching his mainstream music career, Franco honed his skills as a performer with the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) Band. He eventually transitioned to commercial success by founding and leading the highly popular group, Franco and Afro Musica.

His breakthrough came in 2001 with the release of his debut hit album, Ke lela le lona, which immediately catapulted him to stardom and solidifed his reputation as a major musical force in the country. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has built an impressive discography of around 18 albums, frequently using his platform to write lyrics that tackle important social issues.
